Martyn Whiteley

Interim Managing Director - Guernsey Energy

Martyn is a Chartered Gas/Pipeline Engineer and Fellow of IGEM, with over 35 years experience in the engineering and project management, construction management, and maintenance of Oil & Gas and Chemical process plants, Power Plants, and high pressure pipelines.

 Originally from Leeds, Martyn started his career with British Gas as graduate engineer working his way up to the position of Project Manager. Following 19 years of service for BG, and after 2 years as Project Services Manager building the Hannibal Gas Plant in Tunisia, Martyn left to develop his career with engineering contracting companies. Martyn went on to work for Delta Catalytic and Jacobs, also holding various Directorship roles at Aker Kvaerner and Fabricom-Suez before joining GSA early in 2007.

Martyn then managed the integration of GSA into existing operations at Engie Fabricom in 2010, becoming Operations Director at Engie in 2012, and building up the consultancy engineering team from 50 to over 100 engineers within 3 years.

Martyn left Engie Fabricom early in 2018 first establishing WHITELEY engineering ltd, and then joining Northern Gas Networks in April 2018 as Senior Project Manager for CAPEX Programme Management.
